Band Concert
Remember that registration for youth baseball and softball is due Feb 24th. You must register online with the City of Gatesville. If you want to play on a JISD team please list Jonesboro in the team request section and let the school know.
Due to the recent school closure because of inclement weather, the Jonesboro ISD has amended the 2022-23 Calendar. February 6, 2023 will be a REGULAR school day. This day was originally scheduled as staff development, but will now be a REGULAR school day for all staff and students. We will also utilize Friday, March 3, 2023 as a day to make up lost minutes due to inclement weather. This day will be an EARLY RELEASE day for students and a FULL day for faculty and staff. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause to the JISD Community.
Jonesboro ISD will have a normal 8 am start, Friday, Feb 3rd.
Due to worsening road conditions and the potential for more severe winter weather throughout the night, Jonesboro ISD will cancel all classes and activities for Thursday, February 2, 2023. All classes and scheduled activities will resume Friday, February 3, 2023 at normal times. I All previously scheduled events missed due to school closure will be made up at later dates and times.
Based on current weather and temperatures, the Jonesboro ISD believes it to be in the best interest to cancel school for tomorrow, February 1, 2023 and try to resume Thursday at 10 AM.
Due to the worsening road conditions caused by inclement weather Jonesboro ISD will cancel all classes and activities for Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
JISD will have a late start on Jan. 31st. We will start school at 10 AM, making the busses run 2 hours later than normal.
We will check the roads and a call for the remainder of the day will be made by 8 AM.
JISD is not closing early today, Jan 30th. A decision for tomorrow, Jan 31st, will be made ASAP.
JH basketball games in Abbott have been canceled for tonight, Jan 30th.
Ms Millers science class learned all about the weather today. Specifically why it rains! They did an experiment to show how when the clouds get heavy, they release the rain. As you can tell from the pictures they really enjoyed the lesson.
