The Jonesboro ISD has named the valedictorian and salutatorian for the class of 2023.
Valedictorian honors go to Reanna Fincher. She is the daughter of Shorty and Leila Fincher. Her achievements include advancing to regionals in academic UIL 3 years in a row for spelling and being yearbook editor for 2 years.
Jaden Domel is Jonesboro ISD’s salutatorian. He is the son of Brandon Domel and Brandi Hobbs. His extracurricular activities include varsity football, state track qualifier, varsity baseball, UIL Mathematics and number sense, FFA and powerlifting.
He plans on attending Tarleton University then transferring to Texas A&M to pursue an engineering degree.
JISD is extremely proud of these two students and how they have represented the school through the years.

Alissa Shumate qualified in triple jump and high jump.
The boys 4x100 relay consisting of Layden Nichols, Jaden Domel, Carter Janisch and DeMarcus Acoff will compete in Austin.
Both the boys and girls track teams competed very well at regionals posting some impressive team point totals. We had several athletes place just out of reach of a a state ticket.
We cannot be prouder of them all!

Jonesboro ISD is raising funds for an in-field remodel on the softball field. We have 7 designated areas that individuals or groups can sponsor. If you have any questions please contact the school.
Tonight’s softball game vs Gordon has been postponed until Monday 6 PM in Dublin.
Senior scholarship applications and newspaper senior survey are in the admin office.
The scholarships are due April 28th.
The newspaper is due May 5th.
