Attention Parents: Important Medication Policy Update
We have noticed an increase in phone calls requesting medication for students. Please be aware that there have been changes to the law regarding medication administration in schools that must be followed.
Key Changes:
Doctor’s Orders Required: All medications, including over-the-counter and prescription medications, must have a doctor’s order. (See the attached form or locate the form on the JISD webpage.)
Parent Permission: A signed parental permission form is required for any medication to be administered at school. (Again use the attached form.)
Original Containers: All medications must be supplied by the parent in their original containers.
If you have any questions or need further clarification, please contact Nurse Stovall at the school.
Thank you for your cooperation!
