Thank you!!! We only have about 10% of the packets of students materials left at the school. If you were not able to pick yours up from the school today please call us to arrange pickup.
We truly appreciate all of the parents for staying committed to their child’s education during this time. We know this is hard on everyone.
A special thanks goes out to the teachers and staff. Your dedication and team work really showed today. Handing out the students material was seamless!
Jonesboro ISD truly is the greatest school!!

We practiced social distancing today.

The youth fishing league has cancelled the tournament on April 4th and championship tournament on April 26th. I will let everyone know if it gets rescheduled. Contact Mrs. Smith at susan.smith@jonesboroisd.net if you have questions.

Remember that we are here till 6pm handing out materials for students.

Parents and athletes: please bring any uniforms/practice gear/equipment to turn in when picking up school work on Wednesday. Thank you.

After trying to coordinate work and delivery of materials we are just going to have students pick up all assignments from the school. We will be here from 8-4 Wednesday.
Sorry for the confusion and the changes. We are working through all of this as much as possible.

JISD Parents,
Listed below are some great ways to get your kids active while at home! Listed below are online resources as well as links to games that can be played outside. Sometimes the best exercise is letting your kids go outside and play unstructured. This keeps them active but allows them to use their own imagination while getting lots of exercise! Exercise/Play first thing in the morning helps to get their brains stimulated which helps for any instruction time you’re doing at home. I hope these links will help you while on this extended break. I will be posting different activities often on via our school Facebook & Dojo that will continue to help keep you littles active!

Reminder for all athletes. The weight room and all other campus facilities are closed during this time. Thank you.

We are passing out breakfast and lunch at the cafeteria from 730AM til 9AM.

Coryell Health has a COVID-19 virtual screening tool on their webpage. You can now get medical advice from anywhere at any time.

JISD will offer breakfast and lunch starting Monday. We will have grab and go breakfast and lunch meals available from 7:30-9 at the school. You can drive around to the car drop off by the cafeteria to pick up the meals. Once we get orders placed for the rest of the week we will adjust delivery times and places.

We will be using Class Dojo to communicate lessons with students and parents. I am slowly sending out access codes to parents. If you do not get an access code you can call the school Monday to receive one. You can also email me at Kendra.gustin@jonesboroisd.net.
Thanks!

I have set up a google voice account for the community to reach me during this time. You can call or text (254) 307-0459. I’ll be able to silence the alerts and calls during non-office hours. Feel free to call or text at any time.
Remote teaching is teaching me all the new tricks to this digital age we live in!

The app

A new need has been brought to my attention to help support our health care workers through this pandemic. While schools are closed their children cannot be left at home alone. This puts added strain on an already stressful situation.
If you are a high school student or a person in a position to help and would like to help babysit children, please call me. I can get you in touch with with the correct people to coordinate this need.

Students and parents:
Teachers and staff are already preparing lessons for next week. Due to the fact that this week was our spring break, we have not had a chance to meet as a faculty to collect lessons and prepare materials. We are meeting throughout the day Monday. Please expect lessons to start coming through Monday afternoon and Tuesday.
We will have digital options as well as print copies. A schedule of times to pick up print copies and locations will be posted. Teachers will also support lessons with videos and other means of communication.
I just wanted to update everyone on a time line of materials and work as this is new to us all.
If at any time you have questions please call the school. We ask that you call to keep the number of visitors to the campus to a minimum. We are all answering emails and texts as well.
Know that we already miss our students. We love hearing their spring break adventures and our hearts ache not being able to see them. Give the kids big hugs from their teachers and tell them we love them!

This app is free right now and functions just like the calculators we use in class. It will be very helpful for students in grades 7-12 to use at home.
