Youth Cheer Forms

August and September

JISD has installed hand sanitizer dispensers by most doors in the district. Students and staff will be asked to sanitize their hand upon entering the building and each classroom throughout the day.
We will also have sanitizing wipes available for students to clean their desks off before and after use.

As you plan for school lunches next week, please remember that the students will be eating in the classrooms. Microwaves will not be available to use for students bringing their lunches.

For the 20-21 school year, car rider pickup and drop off will remain the same. Students will be dropped off at the cafeteria. Please only drop students off at the cafeteria and not before 7:30 am.
Once students are dropped off, they will go though the side door and have their temperature taken. They can then get their breakfast and head to first period class.
The only exception to this will be our pre-k and k classes. Their teachers will meet them in the cafeteria where they will eat breakfast and then be escorted to their classroom.
This link will explain this process with the school map and directions

If you have any questions please call the school.

At this time bus routes for the 20-21 school year have remained the same as last school year. If you have any questions on your bus route please contact the bus driver.

Parents:
Please make sure you call the front office with all of your pick up and drop off changes for the 20-21 school year. Mrs. Suggs will be here to accommodate all of your schedule changes for this matter.
Please call the school as early as you can for pick up changes. It is extremely difficult to get messages to teachers right at the end of the day.
In the years past we’ve always used apps or texts to communicate with teachers. This year teachers have a lot going on and we do not want a message to be missed.

Don’t forget we need updated shot recorded for incoming kindergarten and 7th grade students.

Tuesday, August 25th, the Baptist church will be handing out school supplies from 5-8 pm. You will be able to drive by, collect your supplies and leave.
JISD appreciates this service that the church provides each year. Our kids do not go without anything they need because of this community.

HS football scrimmage at Pruitt Field vs the #6 May Tigers beginning at 6 PM on Thur (8/20).

FFA/Jr FFA upcoming deadlines:
8/31- Poultry orders for CCYF due to extension office.
8/31-payment for lamb/goat validation tags due. Please makes checks to Coryell 4-H and give to Mrs. Gann or drop off at The extension office. If you have not heard from me and you need to order please let me know.
9/1-Entries for HOT due to Mrs. Gann with payment (checks made to Jonesboro FFA). Forms are available in the Ag classroom.

JISD Cheerleaders are selling raffle tickets to help with payment for uniforms. All details are in the picture below. You can purchase from any varsity or junior varsity cheerleader. If you are a JV cheer parent and have not gotten tickets they will be in the front office waiting for pick up.
Thank you for the continued support of our student athletes!

Sports camp info

Herff Jones will be in campus September 11th and 18th for upper class man to view and order class rings. This date is a change from originally planned so please correct your calendars.

As the start of the 20-21 school year approaches, JISD will roll out all the new changes for the school year.
Up first is our school hours. We have extended our school hours from 8:00-3:45. Adding in this extra time allowed us to extend our passing periods giving students more time between classes.
We also ask that no student be dropped off before 7:30 each morning. In the past we could make arrangements for early drop off, but this year our teachers and staff already have enough extra duties to attend.
If you have any questions regarding school hours please call the school.

And no matter how different this year may be, we still have hope and light because of moments like this.
