Dear Jonesboro Community:
The District has been notified that a high school teacher has tested positive for COVID-19. We have investigated the situation and at this time we do not feel like we need to close campus or quarantine anyone without symptoms. Based on the information we have gathered, no one was exposed to the teacher within 48 hours of the beginning of symptoms. The teacher was able to get tested quickly as to not expose anyone at the school.
Campus and buses have been deeply sanitized all this week due to the high rise in numbers of COVID-19 in the surrounding communities. We had instituted these practices before we were notified about the positive case. We will continue with the heightened precaution until we are advised that it is no longer necessary.
All district employees and student are instructed to continue to follow CDC and TEA guidelines for social distancing and other preventative measures. These measures include wearing a mask, sanitizing work stations and hand washing practices. Along with these guidelines, no visitors will be allowed on campus without a mask.
If you have any questions or concerns about this or your family’s safety, please contact Mr. Dossey or Ms Gustin.
